A Calm Sunday Before the Monday Storm
Sunshine will be the rule of the day today, with temperatures climbing into the mid 50's for our highs. However, this calm, seasonable day will give way to a stormy start to our week on Monday. Low pressure over the southeast will move rapidly to our west by tomorrow afternoon. Rain will begin overnight, light at first and winds will start to increase thorough the morning hours. There is the potential for an isolated thunderstorm or heavy downpour which could lead to localized flooding. The bigger impact will be the strong, gusty winds. Winds will be southerly (bringing in some very mild air) at about 15-20 mph, with higher gusts. Gusts of over 50 mph are possible along the coast, so keep watch for possible downed trees or power lines. The storm will move out quickly tomorrow, so wind and rain will diminish after nightfall. Colder air settles into place behind a frontal passage, look for falling temperatures Tuesday and overnight lows near or below freezing.
