A Stormy Christmas Eve
Clouds will be quickly increasing today ahead of a strong strong heading our way. Here are a few points on what to expect over the next 24 hours:
1) Rain develops this afternoon, heavy at times overnight tonight. 1-2 inches expected with a few locations pushing 3 inches. Localized flooding a concern.
2) Damaging winds will be the biggest problem. Wind gusts 50-60 mph inland and 60-70 mph along the coast. Expect trees and power lines to come down and power outages are likely in some locations.
3) Severe thunderstorms are possible overnight tonight as the cold front approaches. Again the greatest threat will be damaging winds.
4) Freezing temperatures behind the front as temperatures tumble during Christmas Day. We will be below freezing by later in the day Christmas and may never make it above freezing until Sunday afternoon.
