A Stormy Sunday
A mild Sunday is in store for South Jersey, but also a stormy one later today. Temperatures will rise into the mid 60's for most of us this afternoon, and we will remain dry for the morning and early afternoon. Clouds will thicken throughout the day as a fast moving cold front approaches the area. Look for rain to begin soon after sunset and we could see brief periods of heavy downpours as the front pushes through. Winds will be increasing during the day and we'll be looking at sustained winds 10-20 mph this evening with gusts of over 30 mph possible inland and over 40 mph along the coast. Total rainfall from this system will be in the .25"-.50" range with some locally higher amounts. The front moves out of the area quickly later tonight and skies should begin to clear after midnight. Monday will feature a good amount of sunshine and a return to more seasonable temperatures. Breezy conditions will persist through mid-week as we receive a shot of colder air Tuesday which will keep our highs in the 40's on Wednesday and drop our overnight lows into the 20's Tuesday and Wednesday night.
