One More Warm Day...

With high temperatures in the 60s this weekend it's hard to believe we are watching not one but two storms which could bring wintry weather to parts of South Jersey this coming week. After some sunshine today clouds will increase tonight as a storm system begins to approach the region from the south. This first storm will bring rain to the area on Monday, with up to an inch of rain possible. Colder air will be working in at the tail end of the storm and that could mix some wet snow in over inland areas before the precipitation comes to an end, although we are not expecting any accumulations.

The big story will be the potential for a major winter storm in the Wednesday/Thursday time frame. At this point is is still a bit too early to pinpoint snowfall totals but the potential is certainly there for areas well inland, say along and to the west of the NJ Turnpike, to see a significant snow from this second system. Coastal areas will likely not have to deal with as much snow from this second storm, but gale forced winds and coastal flooding could be an issue for you. We will continue to nail down the details and bring you updates over the next couple days. Until then, enjoy this final mild day across South Jersey!
